Navy Millicent Jacket

Here is my look for today!

It's no surprise that I have a major obsession with long coats and sweaters. I think because I'm tall I always go for really long pieces because I know they compliment my body shape. I also love how cozy and put together certain long pieces can look and some times can look a little more fashionable compared to some of my short sweaters/coats. I don't even want to know how many coats and sweaters I own. Considering I live in Canada our winters are long and cold so it makes sense for me to have a million. If I'm going to freeze for months I better be able to look fashionable, am I right!?
This Pink Martini coat arrived at the boutique I'm working at and I'm not going to lie I didn't look at it or even think to try it on. It was just a plain navy jacket to me and considering I have a thousand and one jackets I never tried it on. I put this jacket on a mannequin the other day and I saw how it fit and I knew I was in trouble. It's a very basic coat but the fit is beautiful. The shoulders are sharp and I love the buttons and how they are placed. This looks great open and layered but also put together buttoned up. Win, Win!! This is a great go to jacket that will look good with almost everything. I have lot's of statement pieces so it's nice to have a basic in my closet.
I decided to pair this jacket with a pop of colour with my Old Navy mint/teal sweater. The coat sleeves are a little short and my sweater sleeves were long so I thought rolling my sweater sleeves up on my coat sleeves gave it an added touch. I'm a huge fan of rolling up the sleeves of a blazer, sweater or jacket. Sometimes it can just finish up a look and make it more of a fashionable look!!
