New Years Resolutions

What a year it has been!! Obviously like most people there were certain things we didn't achieve this year or things we needed to work on (not to make this so negative). Every year we all (or most) like to make themselves a New Years resolution. It's that fresh start feeling everyone loves to feel and knowing it's a New Year and knowing you can do anything and accomplish anything you want. Most years I truly don't take my New Years resolutions very seriously but this year I've decided to act on each of my resolutions. I'm a very determined person when I want to be and if I get in the mind set of wanting to do something, I usually succeed.

Travel to London England
I'll start off my resolutions with a fun one. Going to London England. I'm a weird British fanatic. It all stems from my mom who lives for Cornation Street and all British murder mystery shows. I have grown extremely fond of all of them. They are so much better then American tv shows, hands down.
My moms background is English which is why we must all have this British bug, but I think it's just their amazing accents I'm infatuated with. In all seriousness, I've been dying to go and I would love to take my mom this year.

Moving Forward
One of my biggest downfalls this year was ending a long term relationship. We decided after 4-5 years together we needed to be independent and live without relying on each other. I'm still head over heels for the man but we decided to be mature about the situation and allow ourselves to experience life without each other. I had/have troubles with it everyday and as much as I know its a good idea, my heart doesn't want it to be a good idea. I have tortured myself enough and realized this year I'm moving forward and letting go. Being upset all the time is no way to live your life.
Patience is key and if its meant to be, it will be.

Save Save Save
I have never been a great person when it comes to saving my money. I like to spend it and I always seem to have something on my never ending list of items I want. However, I love money, and I feel super secure when I have a big bank account. So I've decided that it's time to save my money and stop buying stupid things. I want to be able to have enough saved up incase I have a surprise trip or event pop up and I'm able to go.

Organize
I love being organized. I love making lists and I love my room and car to be super clean and organized. However, I also love being lazy and those two things don't really work hand in hand. I'm not sure if its just me, but when my room is messy, I feel like I can't function properly. I hate it, and when I walk in a really warm cozy clean room, my whole attitude changes. I also love making lists and writing down everything from tasks at work to finish, outfit ideas, people I need to email back, and posts I need to finish. I have bought a cute pink 2014 planner and I just organized the crap out of my room, and I feel like a million bucks. Ive decided I love this feeling so much I need to stick with it and make sure I always feel like this. No one wants to feel down and lazy...well maybe sometimes lazy.

Going out more
I call myself a grandma because my ideal night would be to stay in with a loved one drinking tea, watching a good movie with good food. I sometimes like going out to party, but my body doesn't react nicely to alcohol. It takes me two to three days to get over one night of drinking. My body is outta whack and hates me a lot. I've decided to not be such a grandma and go out more with my friends (easy on the drinking) and make sure I attend more fashion events. I get invited to numerous events with my blog and I will try to attend all of them in the new year. They are so much fun, and they will help to promote my blog!!

Finally trying Yoga
I suffered with pretty severe anxiety attacks the past two years and everyone told me I had to try  yoga to help with the attacks. Stupidly, I never got around to it, and I'm ready to try it out. I'm not even sure why I haven't tried it, just excuses after excuses, but its time to stop it, and just GO. A wonderful thing has happened to me this year though, I can happily say my anxiety has calmed way down. I still will get it once and a while, but I can safely say I'm pretty anxiety free now and I couldn't feel more amazing about myself. I've missed out on soooo many opportunities because of it, and it ruined a lot of things for me. I'm starting to feel like myself again, full of energy and happiness. I'm hoping by making sure I go to yoga this year it will help me keep better control of my anxiety.

Reading more Books
When I was younger I was a huge book worm, and I always had a new book on the go. In school I was apart of all the reading clubs. I'm not really sure why I drifted away from reading but I'm excited to get back into reading. Obviously I read everyday with articles, magazines etc. but I'm excited for a real book in my hands and to get lost in a story. My mom swears by reading at night to help her calm from a busy day and to help her get to sleep quicker.
What book should I read first!!?

Those are my New Years resolutions!!
I will keep you updated and let you know how everything goes but I really want to stick with them. Wish me luck!

  1. If you want to ease into reading again, try Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. I just finished it and it's a fun, over-the-top, brain candy book. Or if you want something more serious, I'm in the middle of reading Dan Brown's Inferno. It was one of the top books of 2013 and it's quite good. (I also just got back into reading and am totally lovin' it!)

  2. the saving money and the going out ones really resonate with me. I am such a good when it comes to money and it lends me in tough spots, so I need to do better there. And I so enjoy doing things like plays, concerts, zoos, museums etc. and there are so many around it is silly as much time as I spend sitting in front of the TV. As for British TV, my favorite show is My Family. It is endlessly funny and charming. I also like Graham Norton quite a bit. Wonderful post, dear. You are so cool and a great writer xoxo
