Pinspiration

Here is another week of my favourite "pinspiration" posts from Paula Coop McCrory's Pinterest page.

I'm so sorry I haven't been posting as much, but I'm currently in the process of trying to fix my iPhoto. Well at least I think the problem is my iPhoto or maybe blogspot? Every time I upload my photos with my Canon on my computer, the photo quality is wonderful and up to my liking. Once I upload them to my blog and attach them to a post the quality gets all funky and becomes more grainy. I'm a stickler when it comes to a good quality photo and this is killing me. I'm still trying to fix the problem. I have posted some photos that are an "okay" quality, but it bothers me every time I look at them. I hope to have the problem fixed soon.

Mother's Day

Here are a few snaps of my day on Sunday for Mother's Day!!!
This past Sunday my family and I got together and celebrated Mother's Day. Although my mother thinks you should be celebrating Mother's Day everyday. It is nice to have a day to really show how much we appreciate her. If my family and I didn't have my mother, we would probably be major failures in life. Sounds harsh I know, but seriously our mother is our everything. I'm speaking on behalf of my siblings as well, because they would all be saying the same thing.
My mom especially has played a major role in my life, because she is my photographer for this blog. I get so many people complimenting me on my photos, and thats all because of my momma!!
She puts up with a lot from me, and I'm so glad she still kicks my butt everyday and has yet to give up on me (thank god). My mom is truly my best friend, therapist, coach, photographer and role model.
With any type of holiday that happens in my household we always start the day with cooking breakfast and drinking mimosas. As long as I can remember my dad has been making mimosas for any special occasion. I'm finally at that age where I can appreciate them, because I always thought it tasted like rotten orange juice. Not to mention my dads famous eggs he makes. Seriously I wish my dad would open a breakfast joint just so he could sell his scrambled eggs. I think he mixes in heaven with them? No seriously, they are phenomenal. After my parents both had a jug of champagne and orange juice to themselves, they were feeling pretty good at 10am. Its really adorable to see my parents act like college students giggling together and getting drunk off mimosas.
Every year my mom gets her choice of ordering a meal. I find every year my moms options become more bizarre, yet more amazing. Last year she wanted McDonalds breakfast and we literally bought 10 egg McMuffins, 20 hash browns and 7 coffees. It looked hilarious. This year my mom wanted fish and chips with sangria. God I love that women.

My Little Pink Dress

Dress: Znu || Heels: Stepps || Bag: (Value Village) || Sunglasses: Aldo || Earrings: The Exhibit ||

The top of this dress is what made me fall in love with it when I saw it on Znu. The lace detailing just covering the ladies is so gorgeous and chic. With wedding season coming up this is the perfect dress for that, which is wear I plan on wearing this.

AMX

Top: Znu || Jeans: Mavi || Shoes: Stepps || Bra Top: Brandy Melville || Sunglasses: Aldo || Earrings: The Exhibit || Ring: (Gift)

Lipstick: MAC - Dangerous

Last week my dad had pulled out his vintage AMX car from the garage and I thought what a perfect backdrop/prop for a photo. I had just received this stunning translucent lace, embroidered blouse from Znu and I thought it would tie in nicely with the colours of my dads car. I'm so in love with this blouse and I think it would be the perfect beach cover up as well. I switch up my wardrobe all the time, so sometimes its hard to spend a ton of money on something I'm only going to wear a few times. I love Znu because everything is so affordable and this is a fantastic quality. This blouse is only $19.99 on Znu right now!!

Spring/Summer Fashion with Value Village

Shorts: Levis (Value Village) || Crop Top: (Value Village) || Purse: Brighton (Value Village) || Boots: BDG (Value Village) || Sunglasses: (Value Village) || All Jewelry:(Value Village) || Belt: (Value Village) ||

It's no surprise from all my posts how much I love Value Village. I love thrifting and finding unique treasures that no one else will have. I love finding an amazing deal on something, that would normally be double the price in stores. I love spending $50 on an entire outfit. I love knowing that every time I go into a Value Village there won't be the same items that you see in the malls. There is always something new and exciting to find.
This spring/summer I've been really loving the hippie 70's chic vibe. At Value Village its the perfect place to score this trend, because most of the pieces are vintage and truly from the 70's, which makes it way cooler. This purse is a Brighton purse which usually sells for $250 and up. I paid $9.99 for mine. These Levi's shorts were originally high waisted jeans. I came home and cut them to turn them into shorts. This crop top you can tell is a good quality piece, probably sold in a boutique. I bought it  at Value Village for $7.99. My boots are from Urban Outfitters (BDG) and I bought them for $9.99. You really can't get much better than that.
The most common question I get from people is how I find my pieces. I have had a few friends tell me they can't seem to find any good pieces. The key to sorting through Value Village is to have an open mind, and take your time. I will spend the time, and look through everything. I'm not afraid to go into bigger sizes, sometimes they can surprise you, and fit just right. I can go through a rack pretty quickly now, looking through every piece, and envision what I can and cannot do with each piece. I would also suggest trying things on. When I first started to go to Value Village I only bought accessories, and most of my purses and jewelry are from Value Village. If the clothing aspect overwhelms you, start with accessories and go from there.

I was up at my boyfriends cottage this weekend in cute little Fenelon Falls and it officially felt like summer, it was amazing. With all the warm weather excitement I knew it was crucial to head into town and grab some ice cream...especially with my popsicle shirt from Sheinside. I will definitely be wearing this shirt a lot throughout the summer, its so much fun!!!

Paintlounge Blogger Party

A few weeks ago I attended a blogger Paintlounge party. Paintlounge is social painting and is such an amazing idea for parties. You could go on dates, have birthday parties or even low key bachelor/bachelorette parties. When you arrive you get a blank canvas and a tutorial on how to do certain techniques with painting. They hand around a book to give you ideas and off you go. If you have a bunch of people you are close with or even a date, if would be a hilarious experience. I kept making fun of myself the entire time, because I truly have no idea what I painted (as you can see above). They have a cute little cafe where you can enjoy a drink while you paint. It was such a different, unique idea. If you are bored of the same old same old, you most definitely need to check out Paintlounge.
